Here is another virtual production project, this time being on the Greek National Elections.
The project consists of an UE ready 3D studio*, a couple screens to display information on but mostly data driven blueprint actors (map/seats/party leaders).
I created these blueprints to originally pull from uploaded (.csv) data tables in UE. To make the data live and pulling from an online repo off GitHub, I utilised the 'VaRest' plugin (UE Marketplace).
It was a challenge building them but entertaining nonetheless, I look forward to creating more like these! Also getting to script for & command AfterEffects around (Javascript) to do what was needed was fun to do.
The studio was brought to life as a virtual production project by utilising a HTC Vive tracker, live camera feed, UE's camera/lens calibration techniques and UE's Composure plugin to composite live within the engine itself. We ended up using Aximmetry for a better live composite as its alpha keying was more accurate.
**Studio not featured as it was not created by me, though can be seen slightly in the After Effects tool demo.
UE blueprint tool displaying each state's winning party.
UE blueprint tool displaying the number of seats occupied by each party voted in parliament.
UE blueprint tool displaying each party's leader (or their logo), their percentage of voters and the seats they'll occupy in parliament.
AfterEffects scripted tool using Javascript to streamline the process of updating results on screen.
The TV channel's logo to be used, in 3D.
